Help sustain the UCR Botanic Gardens for the future
As UCR's living museum, the Botanic Gardens serve to inspire and facilitate education, research and interpretation of the natural world while providing a peaceful oasis from urban life. The UCR Botanic Gardens is one of the most frequently visited locations at UCR and the only facility that welcomes visitors on weekends. While the University partially supports the operation of the Gardens, the improvement, expansion, and advancement of our gardens and programs depend upon the generosity of our community of donors and members.
Donor funding facilitated the recent addition of Gardens staff and support of more UCR student workers, who enable us to remain open to the public on weekends. Donor funds enabled the installation of garden signage, renovation of our propagation facilities, improvement of the heritage rose garden, expansion of the Australian section, and installation of the Native American Plants Garden. Donations also enable us to provide educational and enrichment activities for school groups and visitors of all ages.
There are many ways to support the UCR Botanic Gardens:
Legacy gifts
Dedicated benches, trees, plaques and other items in the Botanic Gardens are a way to honor or remember a loved one or a member of the community. The cost of an honor or memorial gift pays for the materials, site preparation, installation and memorial label or plaque;
