Please support our first capital campaign!
Our iconic and beloved Geodesic Dome has housed a special collection of shade-loving plants since its installation in the 1980s. Now the ravages of time, weather, and plants have compromised it beyond repair, and its replacement must be constructed to meet modern building codes.
We are launching a fundraising campaign, starting with UCR’s own Give Day on April 6, to replace the dome. This project will fund construction of a new plant lath house that pays homage to the iconic dome while building for the future. The innovative design will become a new gathering place for the upper gardens while serving its primary function as a semi-shaded structure for display of subtropical, prehistoric, and conservation-worthy plants.
