Plant Sales

Plant Sale banner

For over three decades the UCR Botanic Gardens has hosted the largest plant sale events in the Inland Empire. Over the past two years these events have been reimagined with a focus on connecting visitors with our own unique plant collection and with local vendors offering plants suitable for the inland region. We now host two Garden Market & Plant Sales in spring and fall, showcasing our Gardens-propagated horticultural and native plants, cacti and succulents, patio and house plants, water efficient plants, colorful landscape trees, and numerous species that attract native pollinators. Participating local vendors offer orchids, plumeria, Australian plants, and other specimens while Botanic Gardens staff, volunteers and UC Master Gardeners are available to answer questions. Friends members enjoy early admission in advance of the public sales. Become a member at https://advancementservices.ucr.edu/FriendsBotanicGarden/.

Fall is the best time to plant California friendly perennials, shrubs, bulbs and wildflower seeds. Did you know that plants established in the fall and winter grow faster in the spring and require less water when summer arrives? Help conserve water with the plants you select for your landscape and plant water-efficient plants!

Join us for this spectacular, one-day event featuring an exciting collection of plants with many varieties including drought-tolerant California Native plants as well as plants that attract hummingbirds or butterflies and plants that are fragrant or suitable for cut flowers or foliage. You are sure to find the perfect plant!

At the sale, most of the plants will have a detailed information sign and color photo to help you make your selections. The Fall Plant Sale list will be available on the website prior to the sale. U.C. Master Gardeners, expert Gardens Staff, and Volunteers will be available to answer your questions.
