UCR Botanic Gardens 43rd Annual Spring Plant Sale!

Saturday, April 2, 2016,  11 am  to 4 pm
Sunday, April 3, 2016,  9 am to 3 pm


Just in time for spring planting! 

On the weekend of April 2nd and 3rd, nearly 10,000 plants and more than 600 varieties will be available for you to purchase. 

Here is the link to view this Spring's detailed  Plant Sale List  of trees, shrubs, vines, herbaceous plants, shade plants, water plants, house and patio plants. Wildflower seeds are listed, as are a portion of the landscapeā€‘size cacti and succulents.  The number of plants that we expect to have available of each type appears in brackets at the end of the plant description.  

A wide variety of plants will be available (see below for printable plant sale list):

  • Plants that attract hummingbirds or  butterflies
  • Drought tolerant and California Native plants
  • Plants that are fragrant or suitable for cut flowers or foliage

You are sure to find the perfect plant!

Free Programs and Demonstrations will be held during the Sale

Saturday, April 2nd

  • 11:30am - "Make Room for Vegetables" - Master Gardener Debbra Corbin-Eustin discusses space saving techniques on growing great vegetables, including container and vertical growing.
  • 1:00pm - "T-Shirt Coloring Activity" (for kids 10 and under) - User markers and stamps to design a unique garden t-shirt. There is a $10 charge which will include a child's t-shirt.

Sunday, April 3rd

  • 11:30am - "Introducing Butterflies into Your Garden and Your Life" - Butterfly expert Ann Platzer explains how to attract butterflies to your yard and what you need to know about nectar and host plant.  She will also identify the butterflies of Riverside County.
  • 1:00pm - "Water Conservation for Kids: A Hands-On Program for Children and Parents" - Erin Snyder, Resource Educator of the Riverside Corona Resource Conservation District, presents a creative hands-on, interactive program on the water cycle, where we get our water, simple ways to conserve and how you can reduce storm water pollutants.

At the sale, each of the plants will have a detailed information sign and color photo to help you make your selections.

U.C. Master Gardeners, expert Gardens Staff, and Volunteers will be available to answer your questions.  Cash, checks and credit cards are now all accepted for payment.
